... I have 41 years. child I had a brother 5 years older than me who lent me his books.
In 1975 he was offered two albums of Tintin for his birthday with friends: " Tintin in the Land of Black Gold " and "The Temple of the Sun . It was the last 4th B Flat 42 outstanding, (index for collectors, see this site on the subject ) with the rear panel and Haddock sat in the grass.
So I knew Tintin.
We were also fortunate to have an aunt in those childhood years, who had the opportunity to recover in the garbage, thanks to a family with children unscrupulous, lots of comic albums, throws there once too damaged. (The Pilon, does it mean anything?)
So my first collections of classic and Dargaud Lombard has also been started. Consider: at least two full cartons in two visits! (..) Are created for vocations for less than that ... These damaged
editions dating back to 1969, however, for black Island, and 1970 for Cigars , and 1973 for Sharks, and it was still in B flat mentioned above. But their condition was poor ...
I was 9 years old in 1978 and vividly remember the first purchases of new albums from my parents, to complete this early collection. At the time, it was new back then C3, with the albums reproduced in color on a frame surrounding a single listing.
The funny thing, is that we kept some labels to sell then pasted on the covers, to remember the price then ... (14 and 15 francs!) (See more photos of the "modern" albums of the time with: Tintin in Tibet, Flight 714 to Sydney, the Castafiore Emerald, Objective Moon ...)
Obviously, in these conditions, given the interest, and Tintin Picaros , published in 1976 was of course bought the original version, since it was the year of publication. His 4th dish was brown, which was rather strange and funny ...
... Finally, moving from the apartment where we lived then, around 1982, nice neighbors we have a gift of some old editions, state
Other titles were already printed back, but dated back to 1968 ( The Crab with the Golden Claws ), 1964 ( the Scepter of Ottokar ), 1968 ( The Broken Ear ). Hmmm the smell and feel of the old thick paper ...
As Tintin and the Mystery of the Golden Fleece , I find myself with editing original 1965, but not too ... remember where it came from ...
Nothing really exceptional, you might say, especially if you are older and / or collect a large budget spent (only) to Tintin ..
But sometimes it's just fun to try to remember how utterly mundane, but nonetheless were able to get wonderful, and leave many traces in our memory ... (Collective)
Ps: In the 80s, I am also interested in black and white editions, purchasing Archives Volume 1 , then I am subscribed to Rombaldi to allow me to align beautiful editions of 'complete works of Hergé. then I already understood that these albums "of" youth ", although
already owned, would not take the shock of years ... (And this is not the oldest that have been most abused ). I did well because some do almost standing .. > The last volume Rombaldi offered me the opportunity to discover first editions (certe miniature, but still! they are .. Moreover, as is now reissued at a low price) ... And since I'm interested in Hergé in general, and buys facsimiles (editions of 1942 aaah ... aaah small cars ...). Atlas
Anyway ... a bit ... Tintin what.
... But not too much, there's not as Tintin in the life of a bdphile!
