What do you think of the marketing of the festival of Valentine's Day?
Ironically this is the second time this week I get asked the question. One time to another, I wonder why since everyone knows that I have not been in love long ago.
Which brings me to my question to myself: Why am I asked me to be gay and single eccentric my opinion on the subject? Bah! Whatever!
Well I will give my answer in two parts, the first deal more about the feast of St. Valentine and my second deal more about marketing.
As I always advocated for more positive gestures, happy and constructive life, it is certainly clear that the feast of St Valentine's Day has its place. If I were in love and couples the day we commemorate the execution of Valentin 269 February 14, this would be the time to express my feelings towards the other, that I love. Maybe one day I even planted an almond tree to celebrate my love?
In terms of marketing, although you might guess, for me it's shit. Not chocolate, not the small hearts of silk, not to extravagant dinners in luxurious restaurants. This is just window dressing. The feast of love for me it happens in the intimacy, honesty, sincerity, deep in my heart.
